- How much does a portrait cost?
Once we assess what you would like done, the actual service and final product for a portrait depends on the medium and size requested. (see options page) - How long does it take to receive my drawing?
Every portrait will be finished and delivered within a 30 day period. Because our service is gift based, rush delivery is available for an additional cost for faster shipping. If you find yourself in a position that a special occasion is coming up that you have forgotten about or can't find the right gift for, just ask about and request rush delivery we will make sure that a beautiful portrait is sent you way in no time!
- What type of photo should I send you?
Any photo can be turned into a portrait. Make sure, however, that it is an accurate representation of the subject. If you don't like how you look in a picture, then choose a different photo.
- What type of format should the photo be?
Upload or email your photo in .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, or .tiff. The larger the image is, the better will the artist be able to create your artwork.
- Can you do special requests?
OF COURSE! Here at Portrait Gifts we work for you. You can request everything from creative/abstract compositions to specific text in the drawing. You can even discuss your choices and ideas with the artist and get their input and creative suggestion, to truly make your portrait one-of-a-kind!
- Can you do other sizes then your standard sizes?
We can create any size or shape you'd like for a small additional cost. All we need is the specific dimensions of the drawing.
- Should my portrait be in color or black and white?
It is completely your preference. If you'd like a classy, timeless piece, you'd most likely would like a black and white portrait. For more contemporary, warm feel, you'd like the portrait to be in color. For a unique, creative touch, you may want a mixed media piece.
- What is mixed media?
Mixed media is a combination of artistic elements including: graphite and colored pencil, oil pastels, ink, charcoal, and glitter. Two or more mediums of your choice can be used.
- How will my portrait be sent to me?
Your portrait will be sent by priority mail, UPS, or Fedex rolled in a protective art tube.
When you receive your price quote, the shipping fee will be included. Insurance and a signed confirmation will be included in the shipping fee.
- How will I pay for my portrait?
Portrait Gifts uses PayPal to ensure your security in personal finances.After we receive your requirements you will receive via email a final quote to go ahead with your portrait. At that time you will submit 75% of the total payment to PayPal. After receiving payment we will send you via email a preliminary sketch of the portrait for any changes and your approval. After receiving your approval we will then do a final portrait and we will email you a final scan of the portrait. Once the final approval is made you will submit the 25% payment balance to PayPal. After receiving your final payment we will then ship the portrait.
- What color or type of background will be used?
The background, unless otherwise specified, will be a solid or shapeless color, just let us know. If you want a specific background, it will be an additional cost based on complexity.
- Can I have more than one head in my portrait?
There will be an additional cost for each head in the drawing; but we will do as many heads as you'd like. Keep in mind the size of paper. We will automatically go up in size (entering a new price range) depending on how many heads are requested and the space on the paper.
- What if I'd like my portrait framed?
Because framing is so personal (options of style, color, matting, room decor and placement have to be considered) we recommend that you simply do your own framing. There is also possibility of damage in shipping. However, if you have specific specifications on framing we will quote you as a framed portrait.
- What if I have another question that isn't answered on this website?
